Not Accepting New Clients. I am a psychodynamically-trained therapist who has particular interest in helping others with problems that have gone on a long time and seem difficult to change. You may have tried therapy before but still feel stuck. You may feel you've never been able to "get to the root" of a problem. You want to get better but nothing seems to help. Or, you may be someone who has had a more recent problem arise and need help "sorting it out." Regardless of the nature of your situation, you've decided that now is the time to reach out for professional help.
I'm very experienced at working with late adolescents and individual adults with wide varieties of problems. I'll spend significant time in the first session to begin to get to know you, gather information about your problems, but also see what strengths you have. Helping you gain a "sense of hope" as quickly as possible is very important.
Reaching out for help brings up different feelings in different people. This may be a scary step, an exciting step, or something else. Psychotherapy isn't about being "treated" by a mental health professional, but about "forming a team" to work together to help you. I look forward to hearing from you.
