My approach to therapy is much the same as a tailor creates a custom made garment. One size does not fit all. We work together as a team to create a plan unique to your needs and situation. I use a variety of techniques to address all aspects of the problem: cognitive, behavioral and emotional. The goal is to develop a deep understanding and have an insightful experience that leads to change.
I specialize in the treatment of food, body and eating issues, anxiety and depression. I bring 20 plus years experience to the field. I am a past President of the Eating Disorders Association of New Jersey. I designed, produced and implemented an educational program, Eating Disorders: Myths vs. Realities, directed to both professional and lay audiences.
I encourage you by building a warm, trusting relationship in which you feel safe enough to express your most difficult thoughts and feelings. Together we work through them so you gain insight into the issues and are able to make better decisions for yourself.
