I am a clinical therapist specializing in empathetic counseling of young adults (18 and over), with expertise in substance abuse and recovery issues. I have over 30 years of experience in assisting my clients using talk therapy, as well as more active modalities. Together, we examine and work through trauma-related issues, which often mask addiction and dependency issues and can cause additional issues such as depression and lack of motivation in school. I work with the family to support the client in developing a drug-free lifestyle. I specialize in assessments, interventions, and referrals to top treatment centers in the country.
I specialize in helping "problem" young adults (18+) and their families. I regularly establish and maintain rapport with treatment-savvy clients who have NOT responded well to previous therapies and whose families are exhausted with what they have gone through to try and assist their loved ones in recovery. I can handle your emergency within 3 hours.
I will often take the client out of office to walk, hike and talk. The natural setting allows the client to safely express strong emotions and can be extremely helpful in our therapy.
