Hi, I’m Laurie. I am a mental health care provider offering supportive, attuned care for the perinatal period. My clients are birthing individuals and couples on their journey to and through parenthood: pre-conception, birth planning, or adjusting to new parenthood. These are folks dealing with depression, anxiety, loss, medically complicated pregnancies and infants, trauma, and figuring out their new role as parents. As a birth professional for over 20 years, I also support others looking to process vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and other issues that arise related to caring for birthing families.
Central to the various approaches and techniques I incorporate are principles of non-judgement, anti-oppression, bodily intelligence, and the belief that clients are the experts on their own experience. My practice is trauma informed and, as a member of the queer community myself, LGBTQA+ affirming.
