I've been practicing therapy for over 30 years. Perhaps more importantly, I have a family of my own. I have been married for 30 years. I have 3 daughters, a dog and two cats. I think kids are wonderful and my favorite people in the world! I work with individuals of all ages, and couples including marital, engaged and long-term relationships. I especially like doing family therapy, addressing parenting issues and individual work with children; in-depth work with individual adults, focusing on healing and recovery from such debilitating experiences as abuse, chronic depression, anxiety, and identity/self-esteem issues.
Of special interest to me is assisting parents with infants through teenage children; using play therapy in my work with children. I work extensively with individuals and couples committed to the process of growth and transformation. I also enjoy speaking to groups on topics like communication, marriage, parenting, anger, anxiety, forgiveness, and grief.
A Michigan native, I did undergraduate work at Michigan State University. I earned my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary, School of Psychology and my MFCC license in California. My husband and I maintained a practice in Michigan for 17 years before moving to the Asheville area.
