Drawing from my background in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, CBT, mindfulness, somatic therapy, and dance/movement therapy, I use an eclectic approach tailored to your individual needs to help you overcome obstacles to leading a richer, more satisfying, and more meaningful life. Some of the things I can help you with are: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family stressors, managing chronic illness, caregiver stress, body image, self-esteem, life transitions, artist's issues and creative blocks, panic attacks, trauma, and life changes.
I use kind curiosity to explore emergent patterns, themes and narratives. In some cases we might supplement the work with a more body-oriented, experiential approach to overcome blocks. In addition to my Social Work degree, I have a master's degree in Dance Therapy and completed my post-Master's training at the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center.
I believe that for therapy to be most helpful, the client must feel comfortable in the relationship with the therapist. I provide a caring atmosphere which is open, warm, non-judgmental, and supportive. Regarding finances, I'm an out-of-network provider on GHI and most PPO insurance plans.
