Hello! I’m Lauren Sideravage, a pre-licensed clinician working at Wildflower Children’s Counseling. Through my studies I noticed the difficulties of verbal expression, especially for children who lack the language to effectively express their emotions and young adults healing from trauma who are working towards their independence and transitioning to adulthood. I utilize the creative process to help people navigate the complexities of their emotions and experiences. My goal is to provide a space of comfort and trust my clients to find their strengths, gain confidence, and build skills to grow and overcome challenges that arise.
As an Art Therapist and counselor who spent a significant amount of time working with high-risk clients, I have been able to understand a variety of presentations and approaches. I use visual arts as tool to incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and Trauma-Focused approaches.
My goal is to help my client express and understand their emotions through visual arts, while also providing a space to feel heard and understood. I believe every person has significant amount of strengths. My hope is to uncover these strengths and use them to increase personal growth, self-acceptance, connection to others, and autonomy.
