My name is Lauren Shaak and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. For all client populations, I take a strengths-based, person-centered approach to therapy. I am comfortable working with diverse issues and engaging in ongoing professional development in order to stay current with clinical best practices. I believe in making sessions feel conversational. I like to establish an environment that feels safe, supportive, and welcoming. I believe that it is possible to take a relaxed, lighthearted approach to the serious work of therapy.
Goal setting is necessarily a collaborative process. I like to support clients in creating goals that are specific, short-term, and manageable because goals that feel too difficult or too future-focused can feel insurmountable or irrelevant.
