As lead therapist at Houston Therapy for Girls, I have extensive experience working with girls age 7-25 and their families, and my goal is to create an accepting environment in which girls and young women can gain self-acceptance and learn skills to help them negotiate some of life's most challenging years. I have ten years post-Master’s experience working with clients with four of those years spent working as a counselor at an all-girls private school. Having both attended and worked at all-girls schools, I have experienced first-hand the pressures and challenges girls face developing a sense of self in today's world.
My focus on helping girls and young women has helped me develop specific skills and knowledge to facilitate growth and meaningful change in my clients' lives. My commitment to emphasizing and capitalizing on my clients' strengths and past successes allows my clients to feel safe and supported facing their current challenges.
As a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, I offer groups for girls based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown and also incorporate shame-resilience skills into individual sessions. Additionally, I support parents through the use of a combination of Emotion Focused Family Therapy and Positive Discipline.

Groups
Virtual Groups for Adolescent Girls
Please check our website for all current groups including middle and high school girls groups. Group therapy can be an effective way to meet tweens and teens where they're most comfortable: a small setting with like-minded peers. Girls who have never tried therapy before find the group setting to be more comfortable than sitting one-on-one with an adult therapist. Girls groups help girls learn that they can have healthy friendships with other girls and that they are valued just for being themselves.
