Welcome to The Light Within Us Counseling. Time does not heal all wounds, and if you find that you have tried various ways to heal but cannot think your way out of your stress, still feel dysregulated and disconnected, and feel chronically overwhelmed, my services may be for you. I can support you in regaining control of your emotional wellness through a holistic approach that centers on mind-body-spirit connection. I work well with clients wishing to increase awareness, insight, presence, and a sense of feeling grounded while decreasing reactivity.
I teach mindfulness as a core skill needed for change, and find mindfulness to be especially helpful for anxiety, ADHD, and traumatic stress. With years of experience providing counseling in K-12 public schools and intensive treatment settings for youth, I have had the privilege to help many families better understand each other and meaningfully connect.
I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming provider and trauma informed. I often bring meditation, EFT ("tapping"), and gratitude into session, and draw upon the work of Dr. Brené Brown to help you combat issues with shame, self-worth, authenticity, values, boundaries, and vulnerability. My hope is to help you feel more peaceful, and to start thriving rather than surviving.
