I'm Lauren, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Trauma specialist dedicated to helping clients address the challenges of life with confidence and accordance with their values. In my approach to therapy, we attempt to answer some of the big questions that cause anxiety and depression - “Who am I?, What is my purpose in life? How do I move forward?”. I often work with clients who experience rumination, hypervigilance, low self-esteem, shame, guilt, and fear, interpersonal conflict, family/relationship concerns, pregnancy and postpartum depression, sexual dysfunction, and work stressors.
At the beginning of therapy, we will work to build a foundation of trust by getting to know one another, and develop some initial short-term goals by establishing basic coping skills. From there, we continue to build insight, and learn how to face past and present challenges using self-rescue and emotion regulation skills.
Life is hard, but especially in uncertainty and when we don’t have all the answers. I’ve found that it has been the answers I find within, my choices, and trust in self that are most helpful to coping. I will always find it a great privilege to join another person along a similar journey of self discovery.
