My name is Lauren “Cory” Goldstein, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I utilize a combination of therapeutic styles in my work with adults. I specialize in chronic pain/illness, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. My work focuses on adults going through periods of transition or hardship, either physical or mental. I specialize in working with clients who are suffering from chronic pain or illness.
My journey to becoming a therapist was widely influenced by my own experience with chronic pain and therapy. Seeing firsthand the ways in which the mind and the body are so interconnected provided me with tools to address not only the physical pain but also the wide amount of emotional pain that comes with a chronic pain diagnosis.
My approach to goal setting is a completely collaborative process between me and the client. During our first few sessions, we will develop trust and brainstorm goals for both during sessions and outside of sessions. I find that the most effective goals are small and measurable so that they are less overwhelming and more attainable.
