My passion lies in serving children, teens, and young adults. For the past three years, I have worked as a school counselor where my primary focus has been serving students experiencing anxiety, depression, struggles with low self-esteem, and life transitions such as divorce or the deployment of a loved one. I also enjoy partnering with parents of children who are experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties. Because of my experience in the school system, I value the ability to collaborate with the various systems of a client's life (school, home, therapy, etc.) to best serve them.
My approach to therapy is strengths-based and integrates aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness practices, and family systems theory.
While my approach to therapy changes based on client preferences and presenting concerns, my ultimate goal is to create a safe space where my clients feel all aspects of them are welcome, seen, and honored. Through this foundation of trust and acceptance, we can create positive change.
