As an experienced psychotherapist, I've witnessed the transformative power of therapy in people's lives. Patients have made peace with the past, enriched relationships, found joy. But it's hard work. It needs a loving witness, partner, guide; I have been that. I specialize in serving adult patients seeking introspection and exploration; couples harboring resentments, needing communication and listening skills; and parents interested in learning effective methods of parenting.
The key is empathic connection between therapist and patient, a "holding environment" in which the patient feels safe to examine painful, intimate, sometimes shameful psychic content. This through psychodynamically-informed listening and observation for self-understanding; cognitive strategies for solutions and actions.
