Dr. Laura Northerner, PhD, is a fully licensed clinical psychologist who provides evidence-based psychotherapy to children, families, and adults in a safe and supportive environment. Dr. Northerner sees the strength, value and courage in every client, and she sees their boundless potential. Dr. Northerner works collaboratively with clients to create a treatment plan that evolves with the client’s needs. She focuses on her client’s strengths and resiliencies to foster growth.
Dr. Northerner is extensively trained. She uses approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and mindfulness. Dr. Northerner also knows how difficult it can be to see your child struggling, and she offers parenting guidance and support.
She has experience treating anxiety, OCD, phobias, depression, trauma, grief and loss, ADHD, emotional and behavioral challenges in teens, relationship distress, and adjustment difficulties to life stressors and life transitions.
