My name is Laura Mengar. I have over 10 years of experience working with clients who deal with various mental health disorders including substance abuse disorders. My goal is to support those that I work with to be able to gain skills and confidence in being able to develop ways to engage in living a life that brings them a sense of hope and connection with one's self.
I believe it is important for therapy to be individualized for the needs of each individual and can vary depending on needs from session to session. I utilize various treatment modalities including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, Family Systems, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as well as others.
My goal is to create an environment that is welcoming and offers a sense of safety for individuals to heal in. I focus on helping individuals to be able to recognize barriers in their journey and build skills to work through those barriers towards progress in their identified goals.
