I am a clinical social worker with over 19 years of experience. I’ve worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced a variety of clinical issues, including anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, anger management and self-harm. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques extensively to help clients implement positive change. I am a firm believer in starting where the client is. As we build a therapeutic relationship it is important to focus on the client's goals in an open and safe environment. I believe that all people have the capacity to make positive changes in their lives.
Helping individuals and families who are challenged with mental health needs means being non judgmental and aware of what strategies and skills will be the most effective. I like to focus on what is available to the client that will be most helpful. It is often times small changes that become the building blocks to the goals set in treatment.
I have considerable experience dealing with cross cultural issues and this perspective enhances my ability to collaborate with clients as they formulate treatment goals. It is with collaboration that we will build and work on goals that will help my client's see positive change within themselves.
