I work with youth ages 3-18 and adults, specializing in the preschool and elementary age group. My goal as a counselors to provide the type of attention, acceptance and unconditional positive regard that Fred Rogers described in his quote. "Whether we are a preschooler or a young teen, a graduating college senior or a retired person, we human beings all want to know that we are acceptable, that our being alive somehow makes a difference in the lives of others."
I use a holistic and systemic approach and consider all areas (family, school, peers, community and culture) that might influence a young person's life. I have a wide range of experience supporting families from different cultures, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and I appreciate and respect all of our similarities and differences.
I create a safe and accepting space where children and their families can feel supported and empowered. I will find the balance that might be missing in your life, introducing mindfulness, discovering your strengths, building on existing skills and learning new ones will be the cornerstones of our work together.
