There are endless, effective modalities to treat and unburden pain. In the end, it boils down to being together in our vulnerability that heals us. We need each other, because this world is difficult. Trauma can impact us in such an intense way that we feel like separating ourselves. I see therapy as respite. It’s where you find yourself with a neutral partner on your journey. I strive to be someone who values your success, and listens when you’re hurting. It takes courage to share embarrassing secrets, pains, and struggles. Parts that feel better hidden and protected have a space to be themselves here and to release.
This is trauma-informed therapy with a metaphysical twist. To me, a mix between clinical-spiritual practices looks like guiding a client towards more emotional expression through mindfulness activities, psychoeducation, and awareness. We get more of what we focus on, so it's a valuable skill to be listening to our thoughts, our bodies, and our energy.
My approach encourages radical acceptance of ourselves. I suppose one could call me a renegade-empath. I'm certainly passionate, yet highly sensitive. Although I'm gentle and nurturing, I believe in strong boundaries and knowing when to walk away. There is so much I'm still learning and areas I'm growing, which will hopefully never cease. Namaste
