Life doesn’t always go as planned and we often need help and guidance navigating turbulent waters or unexpected bumps in the road. I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working with children, adolescents, and young adults since 1994. Having spent 25 years as a school counselor in Connecticut, I work with all genders, sexualities, races, and beliefs. I have experience working with many different presentations of anxiety and depression and have a particular interest and expertise in working with people with ADHD and the accompanying issues of executive functioning, anxiety, and depression.
As a therapist, I employ an eclectic approach, since every person and situation is unique; it is essential to tailor the approach to each person’s needs. I believe that the most important aspect of treatment is to create a relationship in which the client can feel understood in a non-judgemental, safe, compassionate, and supportive environment.
We will work collaboratively toward a resolution, potentially employing strategies such as supportive therapy, CBT, and solution-focused therapy. I believe that listening, hearing, and understanding each individual’s concerns and struggles is paramount. I am eager to see you improve, feel more motivated, and move forward positively.
