As a psychotherapist, I am committed to providing a supportive, safe, and judgment-free environment for my clients to work through present problems and address unresolved issues from the past. My goal is to help individuals better understand the causes of their problems and identify patterns, develop better self-awareness and self-acceptance, form healthier relationships and improve the overall quality of their life. Understanding the impact of the past and making peace with it are important components of treatment as one's past can continue to haunt the present time and influence it in ways that are not always evident to us.
I am a certified integrative trauma and EMDR clinician and work with many survivors of chronic and isolated traumatic experiences with the objective of both stabilizing symptoms and processing the trauma. I am also interested in working with first and second-generation immigrants to strike a balance between different culture and challenges.
I am a licensed social worker and have completed a doctorate in clinical social work with application of psychodynamic theories. My approach is psychoanalytically-informed and is relational. I work collaboratively with clients to identify problems and my treatments are individualized. I also treat clients with a broad range of traumatic experiences

Groups
Sexual Trauma Support Group (Teens)
Dealing with the aftermath of sexual trauma is a complex and difficult process. Many survivors of sexual assault and/or sexual abuse continue to experience emotional struggles despite having gained an understanding of their trauma. Group therapy, supplemented by individual therapy, is an effective treatment for survivors of sexual trauma. Impairment in attachment capacities paired with avoidant tendencies make it difficult for survivors to connect with others. Group therapy provides a unique opportunity to restore social connections while addressing the impact of trauma. Group participants experience a sense of commonality and belonging and reduced feelings of shame and alienation.
