My name is Larry Sherfield and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have worked in mental health in various roles including medical and clinical social worker and psychotherapist since 2002. I am trained in evidence-based models and have a strength-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed approach. I specialize in anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment disorder, grief schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
I bring a calm demeanor and take time to build rapport to aid in a therapeutic atmosphere so that the client can relax and focus on moving toward therapy goals. I work to earn my client's trust and provide emotional support and practical coping skills.
I cannot imagine doing anything as an occupation as I am very interested in people and feel that mental health issues are underdiagnosed and clients are underserved. I am excited to think of the people who do and who will get access to psychotherapy because of the telehealth format.
