I am a licensed, nationally board-certified counselor whose focus is client centered. Many of us at some point in our lives experience events which leave us feeling powerless or hopeless. It can be beneficial to find someone outside of your family and social network when wanting to discuss these experiences. My role as your therapist is to listen, ask questions and assist you in finding resolutions that are relevant. Trust is an important piece in developing a comfortable working relationship in therapy. I have worked for 13 years with a wide variety of client concerns. The majority of my clientele struggle with trauma, post-traumatic stress, grief, loss, major depression and anxiety. I have specialized training in trauma focused therapies and incorporate a broad range of different therapies when helpful.
My favorite quote by Mark Twain describes how I view each individual's struggle. "Nothing that grieves us can be called little: by the eternal laws of proportion a child's loss of a doll and a king's loss of a crown are events of the same size."
