Hi, I'm Lana, and I'm an art therapist. Art therapists are mental health counselors with a unique training and skill set that allows for the whole brain to engage in the therapeutic process. You don't need to have any experience with art making or any artistic skill in order to benefit from our work together. You just need to be human (but a sense of humor helps, so bring it if you've got it).
I encourage my clients to express themselves using their words as well as creative materials in session. This combination allows for us to explore their lives and needs deeply, identify and envision their goals more clearly, and build tangible skills to support them in their movement towards those goals.
