Greetings! My name is Lakeisha S. McNeil, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of experience in the field. With a caring and compassionate heart, I strive to provide a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel safe to address your issues with confidence. I have assisted clients with various issues including substance abuse, conflict resolution, depression, anxiety, stress management, career/vocational guidance personal crisis, life transitions, and relationship and coping skills.
My main approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic therapy, and mindfulness but I also understand that theory is not a one-size-fits-all so I utilize therapeutic approaches that best meet the needs of my clients. Goal setting is done collaboratively based on clients' interests and not the interest of the therapist.
I understand that the therapeutic alliance is extremely important to move through the therapy process.
