I have successfully built lasting therapeutic relationships with my clients, and provided safe spaces to help them begin their healing process. I strive to foster a nonjudgmental and unbiased stance to foster open expression of thoughts and feelings during each session. I focus on individualizing the treatment process and incorporates various therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral, solution -focused, and motivational interviewing approaches.
My style of therapist is being a team with the client to develop and make progress towards behavioral goals to reduce the intensity and frequency of mental health symptoms. I encourage clients to have a journal specifically for therapy to take notes and keep track of agreed upon goals. I am a big fan of therapy homework to make progress and stay motivated.
The most important message is therapy is not a quick fix to problems. The client must be an active participant and do the work to see progress in therapy. As a therapist part of your journey, I will not work harder than the client.
