I have a heart to help people who are hurting and looking for relief, change, and hope. Maybe you're looking at life right now and it looks bleak, but you don't know what's wrong and much less how to fix it, or maybe you know exactly what your problem is, but you don’t know what to do about it or you just need an unbiased ear to sit with you, listen to you, and walk through the struggle with you as we work to find a solution. I have had the privilege to work in multiple clinical settings before moving into private practice. I felt that this was much like mental health bootcamp and I found it highly beneficial. Through these experiences I was able to determine the areas of mental health that I am best suited to. In my practice I focus on Complex Post Traumatic Stress due to a variety of abusive experiences such as narcissistic, sexual, emotional, mental, and physical abuse. I also work with co-occurring disorders such as addiction and; bi-polar disorder, anxiety, and depression. I work with individuals, couples, teens and families.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana and have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I am currently working towards a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Louisiana Tech University. I provide psychotherapy/counseling to a variety of populations including children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I work with a wide range of psychological concerns especially those related to trauma, depression, anxiety, and marital and couple relationship issues.

I believe that in order to truly recover from the issues that occur in life, we must find ways to cope so that we are better able to handle them in the future. In order to do that, we must do the tough work of self-discovery. Whether the issue is grief/loss, addiction, depression, anxiety, or trauma, I can help you discover a path to the better version you aspire to be.

I believe that what’s needed to overcome life’s challenges lies within all of us. It’s my job to help you tap into those inner strengths while advocating for you every step of the way. I feel passionate about helping people live an authentic and fulfilling life and believe that everyone deserves that. You are worthy and deserve to be seen, no matter what life has brought your way. I feel that one of the most important pieces of counseling is the relationship between the counselor and the client.

I am very collaborative in my approach and believe counseling works best when clients feel empowered in decision making and work in partnership with the therapist to discern the path they want to be on. I help clients understand all behavior makes sense in context.

Growing up watching my grandmother struggle daily with mental illness, I naturally grew to have a heart for helping other people. I have spent the last decade of my life in the helping community and I believe that it is my life’s purpose to help people actualize the life they wish to have. I explain my position as a therapist by saying this to my clients, “It’s not my job to fix you because you are not broken. It’s my job to help you see things in a different way that will help you to function better” I welcome you as clients to embark on this journey of healing. It’s not always easy but the results with be so rewarding.
