I strive to implement directive and non-directive play therapy practices to meet the social and emotional needs of toddlers, young children, pre-teens and teens. I also work with college-aged young adults to help foster confidence in transitioning through life changes, as well as to promote increased self-awareness/ identity. In addition, I also work with parents who want to build stronger skills. I work with those who have ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, delays in social skills, peer conflict, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and those who are struggling to adjust or may be searching to find themselves.

I utilize EMDR and cognitive behavioral therapy as needed. Specialties include, individuals, couples, family therapy and parenting and child/adolescent issues. I practice in the New Orleans area., I have had a psychotherapy practice for over 30 years. I have served on several college and university faculties including having served as an associate professor in psychiatry at Tulane Medical School; a graduate of Tulane University School of Social Work. I have presented original papers at international conferences, am published and have a CD about coping with stress.

I love working with clients (2-18) who have ADHD, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorders, and other forms of neurodivergence. I use play therapy to connect with them and help them learn about their brains, their emotions, and new, more comfortable ways of expressing themselves and meeting their needs. I also enjoy connecting with parents who feel alone in the unique challenges that come with parenting these children. It can be hard to feel like the challenges are respected and the positives appreciated.

I am a Medical Psychologist, licensed to prescribe medication in the state of Louisiana. My clients range widely in ethnic and cultural background, economic status, and sexuality/gender status. BCBS (PPO only) accepted. At this time, I am accepting new clients for medication consultations, and for short-term therapy (3 to 6 months). I have limited availability for in-person meeting at this time. Out-of-pocket fees for psychiatric prescribing: $250 Initial consult. $125 to $175 for follow-up appointments. Out-of-pocket fees for therapy: $175 per meeting.
