Growing up watching my grandmother struggle daily with mental illness, I naturally grew to have a heart for helping other people. I have spent the last decade of my life in the helping community and I believe that it is my life’s purpose to help people actualize the life they wish to have. I explain my position as a therapist by saying this to my clients, “It’s not my job to fix you because you are not broken. It’s my job to help you see things in a different way that will help you to function better” I welcome you as clients to embark on this journey of healing. Stephanie B. Dean, MA, LPC, is a psychotherapist with experience and training in women’s issues, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, attention-deficit disorders, family-of-origin issues, self-esteem, and more. She possesses a Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and is the founder of Greater Bogalusa Community Center, a nonprofit, human services organization in Bogalusa, LA. Dean possesses special skills and experience in working with patients to uncover core issues and get to the “root of the problem”, especially in cases in which feelings of extreme guilt or shame are involved.

I have over 14 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families, and I teach the practice and research of marriage and family therapy at a local university as an associate professor. I firmly believe that you are doing the best you can and your struggles do not define who you are, and my focus is on helping you pinpoint what is keeping you from having satisfying relationships and achieving your full potential. In close consultation with you, I aim to help you devise strategies to improve your life quality and satisfaction.

I am very collaborative in my approach and believe counseling works best when clients feel empowered in decision making and work in partnership with the therapist to discern the path they want to be on. I help clients understand all behavior makes sense in context.

Nikky Redpath is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana. She has over 15 year of experience counseling children and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, personal issues, attention deficit hyperactivity, behavioral issues, self-esteem, and grief and loss. Nikky completed her Bachelors in Psychology and her Masters in Education focusing in Human Services Counseling both at the University of New Orleans.

I work with individuals, couples and families with a wide range of struggles including anxiety, depression, communication issues, relationship problems, grief, loss and many others. I believe the client is the expert in their own life and I am simply a tool to help facilitate a healing process. Us, as individuals, all have our days. We are the ones that get to name our days; bad days, peaceful days, going with the flow days, need a friend days, sick days, etc. It is my belief that whatever we name our day defines/identifies how we view ourselves and the people around us.

A compass is a tool used for guidance and direction. It is vital in helping someone find their way when they are lost or trying to get to their destination. Much like a compass, counseling can be an important tool for "direction" through a variety of difficult situations. As a therapist, my goal is to assist you in healthy ways to change behaviors that may be contributing to your problems. I enjoy working with clients who are committed to improving their lives. Sometimes family issues get in the way, both from the past and currently. Being stuck in traumatic memories or living in difficult circumstances makes life hard. I enjoy seeing families together to help them improve communication and to build closer relationships. Couples who invest therapy time into their relationship, report increased feelings of closeness and happiness in their lives. I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor for MFT Interns and Associates. I enjoy helping MFT Trainees to improve their therapy skills to help others.
