I view counseling as a collaborative relationship between the client and the counselor. This collaborative relationship allows the client and therapist to work together to address issues the client is facing through the development of mutually agreed upon clinical and personal goals. During therapy, I focus on patterns of thoughts, behaviors, moods, and communication that may contribute to client distress. I often address these issues utilizing Person-Centered, Systems, Cogitative Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (evidenced-based therapeutic practices).

Whether you're struggling with relationship issues, anxiety or depressive symptoms there are many tools that can help.
If you are currently going through struggles in life or hitting some obstacles, know that it's normal and it happens to all of us at various times. Anxiety and depressive symptoms often arise as a result. The question is, how are you coping? Sometimes without being aware of it, we develop destructive coping mechanisms by masking or shoving things down. With over 20 years of experience I help guide clients towards healthier tools to live a more functional and fulfilling life, and improve relationships along the way. Above all else the key component centers around self care, learning to take care of you.

I utilize psychological testing to assess areas of concern and write comprehensive psycho-educational reports to diagnose and guide treatment for a variety of needs including developmental disabilities, Autism, learning disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, trauma and stress-disorders, and parent-child relationship problems.
Working with children, youth and their families is a passion of mine. While all children experience challenges in life, some children have a more difficult time overcoming these challenges. I am a licensed psychologist specializing in work with children from infancy through adolescence on issues affecting social, emotional, and academic performance. As a child and adolescent psychologist, I help children understand their feelings and how to express their feelings in healthy ways. I work collaboratively with families to improve children's self-esteem, emotion regulation, and social skills with a treatment plan customized to each child.

We all have problems, habits and "quirks" of personality and wonder sometimes when life gets rough, whether we need therapy or if it would be a good option. When life is getting on top of you, when you begin to feel strong emotions that you didn't know that you had, when you feel lost or hopeless or just want to reach your full potential, then give yourself a chance to seek a new solution. I can help. I believe that each individual is creative and unique and that there is no "one" way to be happy or live life. I now offer EMDR via Telehealth.

Life is so much harder than it used to be. We are constantly being challenged and it is often hard to determine what the best next option would be for you. Often times it is difficult to find the best way to manage daily challenges and understand how to meet expectations set by others as well as ourselves. It can be hard to manage stress, worry, sadness, past trauma, and relationships. It is important to remember that you are not alone and there is room for things to get better. The focus is to identify the best way to manage each situation, it is a struggle to know where to start.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
