I am certified in Emotionally-Focused Therapy for couples and focus on helping couples form a secure bond after relationship injuries.
Are you seeking change for yourself or in relationships? Making changes is challenging, and it's not something any of us can do alone. Together, we will create a space for you to bravely examine yourself, build on your strengths, heal, and work toward your hopes for the future. I work with individuals, couples (in a variety of relationship structures), and families from a culturally-informed, attachment-focused perspective. I have significant experience working with people who have experienced interpersonal/attachment trauma and ongoing stress, and the ways in which that impacts our relationship with self and others.

I work with individuals, groups, families, all relationship styles, SWs and LGBTQIA+ clients.
Guided by a relational/narrative approach to therapy with a systems lens, I view clients as emergent beings who come from communities and stories that can enliven or constrict their sense of self, safety, belonging, and freedom. In a society that encourages isolation and disconnection, I have seen the profound healing that can happen when people feel safe enough to be witnessed and explore through relationship. I work with people who struggle with painful pasts or parts of themselves and aim to create a space where people can move into greater relationship with themselves, their values, and desires.

I work with adult clients who have difficulties with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, addiction, trauma, and general life adjustment problems.
I am not accepting clients at this time. Recognizing that you cannot handle something on your own takes a lot of courage. My goal is to understand you and what you have experienced in your life that has led to difficult times. I will assist you in identifying what changes can be made in order to lead a happier and healthier life. I view the therapeutic relationship as non-judgmental, safe, and supportive. It's not my goal to tell you how to change or better your life, but to go on the journey with you and explore how making effective changes can lead to a happier you.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors for positive change and growth.
Life can be crazy right now, huh? We are facing immense unexpected life stressors that our brain and body are constantly trying to resolve. Do you find yourself having negative ruminating thoughts? Are you feeling tense, irritable, or anxious and wonder why do I feel this way? Are you experiencing conflict in your relationships but not sure why this keeps happening or how to solve it? I can help. I believe each client has the strength and capacity for change and awareness within themselves. My role is to provide insight, encouragement, education, evidence-based practices, and a little laughter to help each client reach their goals.

Imagine being in a relationship where you are loved, respected, and free to be you.
What went wrong this time?" You find yourself asking. Every day, there's something new; you're so tired of the arguments, accusations, and lies. Some days you want to work it out, others you're ready to leave. But one thing is clear- you have to figure out how to make it stop. You're stuck- unable to make a decision or communicate what you want and need. Not that it matters; they don't listen anyway. They're controlling & unreasonable. "Should I stay or go?" Wondering if it's possible to save this relationship or what life would be like alone. You're hurt, lost, and feeling unloved. Tired of trying to figure this out on your own.

I work with clients who have relationship issues, sexual addiction, and self-esteem struggles.
Most people who contact me for therapy are serious about getting the help they need. They want a therapist they can trust. As a clinical social worker I work with my clients to help them identify their goals and challenges. Like most therapists I offer a safe environment, acceptance, and concern. I may also offer feedback and make suggestions but I believe that it is the client's responsibility to decide how they want to resolve their specific issues.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
