Thomas C. Estis, Ph.D. holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Social Work from Jackson State University and a Master of Arts in Substance Abuse Counseling with a minor in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana - Monroe; Dr. Estis’ credentials include national and state licensure: NCC, LPC, LPC-S , LMFT-BAS, LAC, and ICADC; Witnessing families in crisis for years prior to the addicted person entering treatment or recovery, Dr. Estis’ clinical research focuses the crisis necessary for the addicted person(s) to embrace treatment and ultimately recovery. Dr. Estis’ experiences spans more than two decades of personal and family counseling, speaking engagements including state and national level and COA background. Dominant therapeutic approaches include Gestalt and Existential Therapy which affords a holistic and spiritual roadmap for correlating the spiritual awakening stressed in the Twelve (12) Steps Recovery Programs. You can recovery if you are willing to do the work to achieve the results.

My teachings taught me that a collaborative approach to therapy allows the client to be an expert of themselves, and myself to work with the client on finding solutions to the client's struggles.

I enjoy being able to assist those who are in need of finding a way out of the darkness. Also, my practice focuses on the study of substance abuse/addiction counseling. I have experience working with children and geriatric populations. I think that telehealth and online therapy are very powerful tools that we have to bring our support to more people regardless of whether they are near or far.

Sometimes the small things make the biggest difference and the largest challenges are not so big in perspective. I believe that participating in counseling can provide that perspective and be a most remarkable and rewarding journey. The counseling process is not always easy and can be quite difficult. Realizing this, I always feel so honored when my clients are willing to include me on their journey. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues in children, and parent-child relationships. I am trained in Play Therapy, Sand tray Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and School Based Mental Health Counseling.

Dr. Jenkins has experience working with individuals, couples, families, children and teens - ages 10 and up. She specializes in working with trauma informed care, inner child work, issues of racial and historical trauma, perinatal mental health, military children and families, relationship conflict and self-esteem and self-care based issues. Dr. Jenkins works with a variety of populations, and works to create a safe space for all!
