I specialize in preteens and teens who are seeking to make sense of themselves and their interactions with the world. At such a critical time in life, one is continuously discovering and forming an identity, values, and coming to terms with how personal choices impact self-esteem, peer and familial dynamics, and the school experience. Together, your child and I work to foster personal growth, emotional awareness and regulation, and to empower them in their development towards a sense of self and purpose. Though most of my experience involves working within the school system, I welcome individuals of all ages.

​Hi, My name is Lori Arceneaux. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience in adoption and maternity services as well as counseling. I have a particular interest and expertise in working with those touched by foster care and/or adoption. For the majority of my career, I have worked with children and teenagers. I enjoy working with these age groups and assisting them with navigating the often complex emotions that accompany adolescence. Also, I work with families and couples who are in need of assistance of strengthening and improving their relationships and addressing their life stressors.

Raising a child in these uneasy times can be frustrating, confusing, and scary, and it’s okay that you’re feeling like you could use some support. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor at Vaughn Therapeutic Collective. I work with children and adolescents who experience behavioral challenges, defiant behavior, adjustment, low self esteem, learning differences, and challenging peer relations. I have years of experience as a school counselor, consultant, and behavioral interventionist. I believe in working closely with caregivers and teachers to work towards therapeutic goals. For the past 5 years, I have counseled children, adolescents, and adults in the New Orleans area. My company, Jacquelyn Walther, LPC-S, NCC, currently does have a wait-list and accepts most insurance including Medicaid. I presently see clients in the afternoons, Monday through Friday and on Saturdays, I see clients throughout the day.

Through my life experience and education I believe developing supportive relationships has the power to reduce the effects of trauma for a child, parents and families.
