What is keeping you from feeling fully alive in each moment? I offer a warm atmosphere to address whatever is keeping you from feeling fully alive. I believe that pain and struggles in life can be turned into opportunities to grow and find more peace in both our lives and relationships. My belief is that healing happens in the context of a supportive and nonjudgmental relationship. My work focuses on helping people develop the skills they need to thrive and to discover things in themselves that may be preventing them from experiencing a genuine connection with others.

We offer counseling, meditation, and fitness training. But above all else, our work is about power. Consider the problems in your life. With improved discipline, optimal health and fitness, wealth generated through an enjoyable profession or business far above your financial obligations, clear communication and negotiation skills, and a working knowledge of your emotional mechanisms, of strategy and tactics, and of logic and rational inquiry, how would your life change? What would happen to your energy level and mood? what goals would you meet? Who else could you help?

Living with chronic pain can be isolating, frustrating, and overwhelming—I understand this firsthand.
My ideal client is someone dealing with chronic pain who feels stuck and overwhelmed by their condition. They may have tried various treatments with limited success and are seeking a more holistic approach. While they might be hesitant about mental health support, they’re looking for practical strategies and empathetic guidance to regain control over their life. They want to improve their well-being, reduce the impact of pain, and find ways to live more fully, with support that respects their experience and empowers them to move forward.

knowing where to begin when seeking help can be tough. If you wonder if you are in the right place to get help, here are 8 examples, you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, you cannot escape asking why this happened to you, you have done everything you know to do, you are consumed during the day and lie awake at night fighting fears, discomfort, and pain, you struggle to articulate/deny feelings of guilt and shame, you feel inadequate and different, you seek to find or realign with your purpose, at times, your life does not feel worthy of living.

I do not consider situational anxiety or depression a mental illness, and no longer practice medical model therapy.
As a depth psychologically oriented consultant, I know personally and professionally that a Soul-Centric approach to life may become necessary when we experience challenges to identity, self-esteem and productivity due to something beyond our control. Events such as a challenging diagnosis, chronic illness, death of loved ones or even something like retirement or ecoanxiety can cause us to feel disoriented. Soul-Centric is a metaphor I use to describe the holistic work necessary in reorienting to a new way of being with self and others.

Are you suffering from the emotional burden that comes with stress, trauma, and unhealthy mental habits? I have additional training in using EMDR for attachment wounds and complex childhood trauma, as well as chronic pain, single event trauma, and grief.
I have experience working with clients from various backgrounds, presenting with multiple different mental health concerns. I have the most experience and training in working with survivors of trauma. Many of my clients have suffered unbearable loss, abuse, neglect, and traumatic experiences outside of their control. They need help in identifying and regaining control over their symptoms that stem from the trauma they have endured. They need a safe relationship in which they are able to reprocess the events and reactions to the hardest things they have experienced. They want to not feel trapped in their traumatic memory.

Chronic Pain Therapists

How does chronic pain therapy work?

Engaging with a psychotherapist to help treat chronic pain does not mean that one’s pain is all in their head. Therapy for chronic-pain patients has been shown to benefit both the mind and the body, targeting physical symptoms and increasing daily functioning. In other words, for many, addressing their emotional health through therapy affects their physical health. A therapist can help a client challenge unhelpful thoughts about pain and develop new ways to respond to it, such as distraction or calming breathing techniques. Studies have found that therapy can be as effective as surgery for certain cases of chronic pain and many doctors recommend trying psychotherapy in advance of considering invasive surgery.

What are the most effective treatment options for chronic pain?

Stress, anxiety, depression, catastrophizing, ruminating, lack of activity, and social withdrawal all make chronic pain worse. Addressing these issues, research shows, can help people gain control over their pain symptoms. Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, biofeedback, and mindfulness-based stress reduction, along with greater pain-management education, have been found to help people reduce fear and disability.

Are there new treatments for chronic pain?

Many cases of chronic pain, particularly those involving back pain, remain medically unexplained. But there is evidence that changes in the brain or nervous system are caused by previous physical ailments such as tissue damage; in such cases, the brain may continue to send out pain signals despite the physical cause having healed. To aid patients under these circumstances, a recently developed treatment known as pain reprocessing therapy (PRT) is designed to help the brain “unlearn” this response. A PRT practitioner helps individuals to reduce the “threat value” of their ongoing pain signals until they can reappraise them as less threatening and fear-inducing. They also help an individual to develop new emotional regulation skills.

How long does therapy for chronic pain take?

There is no set timeline for recovery from chronic pain, especially as there may be a range of physical and psychological causes for any individual’s discomfort, but most patients should expect to see a therapist for a number of weeks or months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions. Studies of pain reprocessing therapy found that many individuals’ experience of pain lessened in eight sessions over four weeks.
