I enjoy working with people seeking to improve their quality of life. Sometimes it can be difficult to pinpoint where the “problem” is, or why our relationships have become so difficult. Difficulty in relationships, anxiety, depression, and grief are among the concerns that I am able to help clients with. Coping with childhood trauma, the impacts of substance use and/or alcoholic parents or partners, and surviving physical, emotional, or verbal abuse are areas with which I am well suited to assist clients.

My name is Stephony Mark, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor w/ a concentration in marriage, couple, and family counseling. I have worked with clients starting at the age of 5 - 86 years of age. My focus is to provide a therapeutic approach that help clients meet their maximum potential and therapy goals.

The purpose of therapy is to restore the client to a healthy state of life by helping to remove barriers that may hinder this process. I specialize in the mental health care of children, adults, couples and families. My services include individual, group, marriage counseling and family therapy. Parent training, workshops, play therapy and prevention groups are also offered. I have twenty years experience working within the field of mental health. I utilize a number of therapeutic techniques and interventions that are tailored to the the client. I'm an Independent Assessor, Clinical Supervisor, mentor and coaching consultant.

My typical client is a person with one or more addictions and/or PTSD symptoms & reactions, depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, etc.; any combination may or may not have been diagnosed at time of entry.

It takes courage and commitment to begin the therapy process. It is my hope that through the creation of a safe, non-judgmental space and a collaborative relationship, clients will be able to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Whether its related to relationships, work, family, or even nothing that you can identify at all. As the therapist, I will provide that space and that relationship, as well as insight, skills, knowledge, emotional support, guidance, and encouragement that can lead each person to make the changes he or she is seeking. Ignoring the problem is not the answer even though it seems easier.

I want to focus on the areas where children and young people are most in need. My desire is to help address the challenges and barriers that hinder the growth of children and adolescents. I will use the eclectic cognitive-behavioral approach relying on a variety of theoretical techniques, as this enables me to respond to each client's needs. I want my clients to be able to overcome challenges and live more productive lives by using different approaches to solve problems effectively.
