I am Licensed Professional Counselor (7196) by the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors. I graduated from Southern University and A&M College with my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2017. I conduct the therapy I provide for my clients through morals and values of the Christian faith integrated with Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. Cognitive-Behavior Therapy is defined as challenging set beliefs and replacing those beliefs with more realistic beliefs. In result, it will promote adaptive behaviors within the client. I also integrate other theories in the therapy provided.

Therapy can feel vulnerable and scary. I get that. My focus is on creating a safe space where you can take a break from shame and guilt and work towards effective, lasting changes that you create. You have value and potential, regardless of what situation you find yourself in currently.

Feeling stuck and lost can often cause significant distress, even leading to anxiety, depression and panic attacks. Counseling can help you navigate those blocks in your relationships, career, and personal life and relieve the distress you feel. It may help you make decisions, find success and discover meaning. Counseling may help you take the leap, mend marital conflicts and heal old wounds. I help couples, families and individuals resolve conflicts, break old habits, and try on new ones. I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (GMCT) and use GMCT in my work with couples and families.

Although each human experience and journey is unique, they are closely intertwined with others. Most of the struggles that a person seeks therapeutic services for are not isolated to them, one situation, nor issue. I truly seek a holistic and eclectic approach allowing for individualized care that can have a greater impact in providing hope and change. What do you desire most? Many people are searching for peace and contentment, but finding that in today's world can be difficult. Having received specialized training in improving emotional connections, coupled with 17 years of counseling experience, has given me the skills necessary for helping people find the enjoyment of life they have been seeking.

As an experienced clinical psychologist, I have most enjoyed working with people having difficulty adjusting to the stressful events and demands in their lives. They find themselves reacting with anxiety, anger, depression or other disturbing feelings and behaviors that work on them rather than for them. They yearn to develop ways of coping and hope to develop a greater appreciation for what life has to offer.

I have a special interest in working with individuals who are trying to change their lives in a fundamental way. These areas can include: substance abuse, relationships and the impact that chronic illness has on our lives. I have been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to help treat PTSD, sexual trauma and other behavioral issues. I offer an initial 20-minute free, face-to-face consultation. My main interest is that you receive the help you need. In the event that the initial consultation is not a great fit, I will provide you with a professional referral to another practitioner.

In a society heavily influenced by opinions, it can be hard to distinguish reality in our daily lives. Navigating through difficult situations becomes a greater challenge while also trying to discover your purpose and self-worth. I believe that therapy requires a holistic approach which aims to improve the mental, physical, social and spiritual health of every person I encounter.
