Training in Chicago hospitals has equipped me to provide psycho-emotional support to individuals living with health challenges. Since 2000, I have assisted clients with such endeavors as processing life-threatening diagnosis; managing paralysis and chronic pain; and accepting the reality of amputation. Natural "everyday" events such as pregnancy thru child birth can also be life-altering and traumatizing. As a parent, I support caregivers of children with chronic lllness or medical trauma. And as a first-generation American, I am ever mindful of cultural considerations and its impact on coping.
I use a cognitive-behavioral approach that is strengths-based, client-centered, and emotions-focused. As a registered art therapist (ATR), I believe in the power of the arts to aid healing, increase self awareness, and compliment treatment. And although sessions are 100% telehealth, I have been told my style is warm, conversational, and engaging.
