My main focus is to meet clients where they are at and to work alongside them to accomplish their goals. Offering insight from both lived and professional experiences, I am able to tailor treatment to unique to each client. I have been a social worker for the past 8 years working with clients in a variety of roles including case management, crisis intervention, and therapy.

During graduate school at WKU, I worked as a Substance Use Therapist for one year during my internship. After graduation, I began working as a LPCA in a substance use setting for 2 years. I began working in private practice setting and obtained my LPCC in 2023. I have been working with co-occurring disorders for 3 years, and I have become familiar with working in a hybrid setting of in-person and Telehealth settings. I am very passionate with working with clients who have history of trauma and addiction.

I am committed to working with adolescents, families, and individuals as an agent of support and empowerment. I have studied many modalities to bring healing to those in need. I am a lifelong learner inspired by the abundance of opportunities available to broaden and enrich the lives of her clients. My expertise includes treating areas of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance abuse, anger management, nurturing parenting, and crisis intervention. I work extensively with clients who experience issues of suicidal thoughts and self-harm.

I specialize in helping women who seek greater insight, personal growth, and deep healing, in their relationships with themselves and others. I go beyond traditional talk therapy to help my clients identify and heal the root cause of low self-esteem, perfectionism, anxiety, unfulfilling relationships, and painful memories from their past.

I love working with children and adolescents to help them overcome adverse challenges and build the foundation for a successful life.

I am experienced in techniques to help clients deal with anxiety such as thought stopping, reframing and mindfulness. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients to change thier automatic negative thoughts to positive thoughts. I encourage clients to focus on self care and help them develop a menu of coping skills to utilize in order to get through difficult times.

I am a Certified Social Worker practicing mental health and substance use therapy in Lexington, Kentucky. I aim to support and encourage individuals in obtaining their goals and improving their overall quality of life. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and varying backgrounds and am LGBTQ+ affirming. I have experience in a variety of settings including community mental health, addiction treatment and more on an individual and group level.

I can support clients with learning how to become emotionally stable and learn how to advocate for themselves utilizing self compassion.

Through empathetic listening, I can assist clients with exploring their personal strengths to develop coping skills that will enhance their life in a positive way.

I specialize in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and extreme OCD. I also work with trauma and other mood disorders. I am open and honest with my clients about my own personal mental health struggles as I too have BPD and other mental health conditions. I use self-disclosure to help validate clients’ experiences and also dispel some of the mystique one may feel about me as a clinician. We are all equal in terms of needing help to overcome mental health challenges.

I believe that the therapeutic value of one human helping another is without parallel. I have a" care- frontational" rather than confrontational approach. I set a safe and caring environment for individuals to explore who they are and re-frame their core beliefs, thus becoming a better version of themselves.

Lena previously has worked for the State of Kentucky as a social worker and partnered with families and children to find resources and work through issues the family faced. Lena has been an educator for Bluegrass Community and Technical College for several years teaching in the social work and human services areas. She has adopted two children through foster care and understands how trauma can impact children and families.

I've gained knowledge and skills working with clients who experienced anxiety and mood disorders, adjustment disorder, self-harm/suicide ideation, developmental disabilities, intimate and family relational conflict, parenting, and trauma-related diagnoses. Moreover, as a brainspotting practitioner, I utilize this trauma specific treatment by effectively helping to identify points in an individual's visual field to assist in retrieving unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain.

I use a variety of evidence-based practices that I have been trained in, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, all from a trauma informed perspective, to address behavioral, cognitive, and emotional issues in a collaborative way to best meet each client’s needs. I specialize in treating trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, and anxiety, with the intention of helping clients find healing and emotional well-being.
