Hello! Welcome to Kind Mind, which is the gentle landing place you have been seeking. My name is Morgan and I'm proud of you for starting this journey. Whether you are seeking out therapy as a means to heal from past traumas or are just looking to grow in self-compassion and awareness, you are welcome here. It can be crazy hard to change, and sometimes even harder to acknowledge change is needed. It is my greatest honor to sit across from individuals and couples who are taking that first step to better themselves - with and immense amount of courage and curiosity - knowing that change can be really hard and uncomfortable.

I've been on both sides of the chair in therapy, and I think that speaks to my trust in the healing power of a therapeutic relationship.
I hold a core belief that no one wants to be “bad” or do “bad.” Keeping this in mind, I prefer to highlight strengths and focus on how we learn and grow in our challenging moments. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and I don't come in knowing exactly what will work for you. My goal is to approach each session with curiosity and to collaborate with you on a unique plan that pulls from your strengths and creativity. My style is direct and action-oriented. I won't just ask, “How does that make you feel?” I'll ask, “What are we going to do about it?” I’m trans, queer and neurodivergent, and I love working with folks of shared experience.

I understand what it is like to look in the mirror and not recognize yourself, the struggles of raising a family with and without a partner, the frustrations of children who experience behavior and/or academic problems in school, the pain of a failing relationship, the stressors and pressures of being a C-Suite executive, the anguish of loss.
I believe everyone has the power within themselves to heal, grow, and change. I can be the person who helps you unlock your beautiful, authentic, inner spirit no matter what your age, background, or lifestyle. My therapeutic interventions vary with the needs of the people who entrust me to participate in their journey via a trauma-informed lens. I am a believer of being kind to yourself and others, being present, being mindful, and living your best life.

Waitlist for new clients
My special areas of interest are: individuals and families affected by addictions, resolving conflict with couples, those affected by trauma and violence, and grief issues .
I have an eight-week waitlist. I recognize that going to counseling can be intimidating, and it is also an important first step in making life changes that you can't seem to make on your own. Are disappointment and hurts a regular part of your life? If you have difficulty standing up for yourself, or if you are waiting for your life to happen, then I encourage you to call. I have 30 years of experience with couples, co-occurring disorders, and EMDR experience. I feel honored that my clients have chosen to walk this life journey with me and welcome your call.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
