Hey everyone! My name is Lexi. In counseling, my goal is to create a space where my clients feel comfortable, safe, and valued. Therefore, I enjoy using a person-centered approach where the client decides the path of treatment. I believe everyone comes into counseling with strengths already available to them. My role is to help my clients access those and build upon those strengths. I work with a variety of ages but find a unique passion for adolescents, young adults, and anyone wrestling with anxiety, relationships, depression, PTSD, OCD, and trauma.

You deserve to know that having difficult emotions or unwanted thoughts doesn’t mean you are a bad Christian or a fraud.
It's overwhelming trying to be everything to everyone in your life. It's deeply confusing when specific experiences with church and church relationships are a significant source of your pain. Opting out of your life and trying not to feel what you feel provides some relief, but it isn’t long before you’re right back where you started. It can feel good to strive for achievements or even perfection to prove your worth, but this doesn’t bring long-term satisfaction. Confiding in others seems impossible. Before long, worry and anxiety dominate your time and energy. You feel further away from God, adding to your guilt.

I am very interested in helping people with PTSD, alcoholism and addiction, and marriage and family/parenting issues, as well as men’s issues, military/veteran issues, career/life transitions, and those interested in faith-based/ Christian Counseling.
As someone who wants to change the world, I chose the counseling profession because I came to believe the best way to facilitate that change is by helping individuals, marriages, and families become fully healthy emotionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually.

Coping with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can feel next to impossible. You might feel out of control in your own life. You react emotionally to situations and later regret your actions. Your world might have gotten smaller and smaller as you feel like you can’t connect with others, or feel less safe in your surroundings. You want to create a life with meaning that you enjoy living, but you don't know how.

You don’t want your trauma to define your life. And in fact, you spend a tremendous amount of time trying to stop the trauma from controlling you. But somehow the more you try to push it away, the stronger hold it has on you. You might tell yourself, "I should be able to fix it on my own", "I'm weak", or "It's my fault." Unfortunately, when you have asked for help, people let you down, so it feels safer to just rely on yourself. You want to feel connected again, but it seems like you've tried everything and nothing helps.

If you are on this page you’re likely “shopping” therapists. If you're looking for an EMDR therapist look no further. If you are an adult or teen struggling with the stress and pressure of life, difficulty with depression or anxiety, a veteran, or perhaps suffering with PTSD, then I might be able to help. Perhaps you struggle with body image issues, maybe life is just overwhelming, people reach out to me for a vast amount of reasons and I don't know if it's a good fit until you reach out. So why would you want to contact me?

We value everyone's contribution and treat everyone with respect. Our clinic offers no waiting list, walk-ins, face to face and telehealth sessions. We believe being vulnerable is actually a strength and not a weakness — that’s why more and more mental health is such an important thing to talk about. It’s the same as being physically sick. And when you keep all those things inside, when you bottle them up, it makes you ill. What is so great about therapy is that it’ll tell you what your blind spots are. Although that’s uncomfortable and painful, it gives you something to work with.

Are you struggling to heal from trauma? Do you feel like you're always on alert, waiting for the other shoe to drop? Do you have gaps in your memory where important moments should be? If so, you’re not alone—more than 70% of adults experience at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. Trauma can cause your brain to perceive threats where none exist, leading to persistent feelings of anxiety, self-doubt, and emotional distress. However, healing is possible!

There is no such thing as an ideal client. That is too boring. The way I do therapy is relaxed. I am not your average therapist, and I am not going to be like, "How does that make you feel?" but I am going to say, "What up! How are we doing today?" I never stop learning, and when you have me as a therapist, you will see that you will fall back in love with learning. Overall, I am just honored you allowed me to help you! Also, the best way to reach me is to Email over calling due to normally being in session, and I want to respond to you as quickly as possible!

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.
Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.
How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.
Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.
Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
