I am well trained in DBT, CBT, including ICBT and ERP.
Asking for help can be scary. You've already taken the first step. I aim to help you explore your own strengths and problem-solving strategies by serving as a compassionate, non-judgmental sounding board to help you explore things you would like to change. I am a neurodivergent therapist who understands mental health struggles from both a client and a provider perspective. Nurturing our mental health and wellbeing enables us to create the kind of life that is most meaningful to us. I want to be a stepping stone on that path for you.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (including ERP, I-CBT, ComB Model) to address OCD, GAD, Social Anxiety, phobias, Health Anxiety, Panic Disorder, hair pulling, skin picking, among others.
Anxiety & OCD take many forms. A fear of contamination, discomfort when something is out of order, distress that you might act on a harming/sexual thought, fear that you are a bad person or will be punished by a higher being, blasphemous thoughts that shake your faith, or fears you are responsible for something bad happening. Anxiety can look like worries about the future, fear of embarrassment, health anxiety, panic attacks, hair pulling and skin picking, or wondering if you're good enough. If any of this sounds familiar, my practice may be a good fit for you, as I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders, OCD, and BFRBs.

Do you need someone to talk to? Are you stressed over the everyday chaos of life? Do you spend a lot of time worrying or feeling anxious? Do you worry about pleasing others or about what others think? These can be signs of anxiety. At times do you feel hopeless, isolated or not your usual self? Do you struggle with unresolved guilt? Do you feel there is no one you can talk to about your intense or personal feelings? These can be signs of depression. Have you tried to resolve these issues on your own without much success?

You and those you love live in scary and uncertain times. You likely find yourself in a world you barely recognize, having to get by with more needs on fewer resources. We have all began to see the results of living under constant fight-or-flight stress while an entire world struggles to get by without needed coping skills, adequate financial resources, or knowing where to turn for guidance.

I have worked with survivors of trauma for ten years. As a child survivor of narcissistic and abusive parents myself, I have fallen in love with the work of assisting survivors on their own path to safety, healing, and even joy! I specialize in survivors of narcissistic abuse, especially within adult children of narcissistic parents and intimate partners of narcissists. Having a Narcissist parent/partner is something you can only truly understand if you have experienced it personally, and it is my mission in life to use my own experiences and knowledge to help YOU understand and heal from the impacts of this kind of abuse.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists

Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?

Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?

Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?

While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?

The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
