I also enjoy working with professionals struggling with Impostor Syndrome and other professional issues. I am a licensed specialized clinical social worker and licensed masters addiction counselor. I believer the therapeutic relationship between a client and a therapist is the foundation on which all other change is facilitated. I will work with you to be supportive, non judgmental, and honest. Once a relationship has been built, I work to help clients change at their pace. We are all different in how we eat, walk, talk, and think. The same can be said for making changes and growing as individuals. As therapy progresses, I believe in challenging clients to reach the goals they have set for themselves.

Guided by an overarching humanistic perspective, I believe individuals possess an innate motivation for personal growth. Life provides occasional, and sometimes persistent, obstacles that hinder our motivation to endure the emotional turbulence accompanying the path to our full potential. A person’s journey is as unique as their fingerprint, and the therapeutic process is no different. Whether your goals are interrupted due to internal or external factors, I strive to deliver treatment catered to the individual and their influences.

In sum, my approach is integrative, and I have specific training with techniques that can help pinpoint current stressors, find their linkages to past events and conflicts, and begin comprehensively resolving their negative influence in our lives.
We can overcome what holds us back. Overcoming OCD and other personal challenges led me into the counseling field, and my commitment is to help you develop and implement your own unique process of renovation, healing, and change. While reaching out for help may be difficult and create feelings of vulnerability, it is often the necessary first step on one of life's most important journeys--the journey of uncovering and maximizing your potential. Based on personal experience, I believe that the rewards are likely to exceed the feelings of risk.

My integrative approach to care is attachment-based and includes experiential, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral work.
Welcome! Chances are you or a loved one has experienced feelings or events where a counselor might be beneficial. You are not alone. Joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain, and confusion and clarity are part of being human. Whether you prefer movies, television, or books; the most resonating stories address these common themes and reflect the depth and breadth of life. As such, your own story is naturally filled with such complexities. Whether your experience includes anxiety, depression, shame, loneliness, grief, life transitions, or conflict in relationships; may you hear the gentle whisper “Courage, dear heart”.

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
