With individuals this often means working on issues with depression, anxiety, anger issues or PTSD.
I believe that there are times in our lives when we need someone to help us navigate through painful and confusing situations we all encounter in life. Many times root causes can be found in both our past, as well as present circumstances. As a Christian counselor, I incorporate faith in the healing process. I believe that God can bring lasting change where human effort alone oftentimes fails. Also, having a strong alliance with someone who can empathize with our situation provides the necessary support needed to carry out lasting change. It is my desire to help you get unstuck, and assist you on your journey of emotional healing

(I'M ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS) Your world is falling apart and you wonder if anyone cares. Your best efforts are failing and all appears hopeless. Or maybe it's that your relationship has become more toxic and you're asking yourself, "Can this relationship be saved"? Maybe you've been suffering in silence and you're at your wits end. Or perhaps your love for that special someone has blossomed and you're ready take the plunge but you just don't know if it's the right thing to do. A non-judgemental listening ear is what most of us long for especially if life hasn't been so kind to us. No matter what your situation is, don't give up!

Are you overwhelmed with parenting and the weight that it carries? Finding yourself feeling constantly stressed, on edge, anxious, or alone? Struggling with your child's big emotions and the behaviors that go with it? Wanting to support their needs but know you need to also support your own? Parenting young children is HARD - but shouldn't feel impossible. It can be difficult to stop and focus on what you need for yourself when you feel like your needs are depleted, especially in these early parenting years.

Relationship difficulties, intense emotions, anxiety, stress and depression -- these are issues that many face each day. If you are struggling, know that you are not alone and that you are stronger and wiser than you likely feel. Pain is inevitable in life, but we can learn from our experiences, adapt and create a life that is more peaceful and enjoyable. I want to provide a safe space for you to talk about your current and past experiences, to express the thoughts and feelings you are struggling with and to feel inspired and empowered to continue working on yourself and improving your life.

I believe that PLAY is for everyone and I love incorporating play therapy techniques into my sessions with clients of all ages. I specialize in children, adolescents and young adults who experience Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Family Conflicts/Divorce, and Loss and Grief. One of the most effective ways to work with children and teens is to have them "play" out their feelings instead of asking direct questions. I provide clients with extra personalized support between sessions without added cost.

Most of my patients describe sessions with me as "effective." Yes, I'll sit and listen, empathize, and you'll know I genuinely care about you and your life. But you'll also probably hear things from me that others may not be willing to tell you. Why? Because I want to see you live the life you are capable of and unlocking many of those interactions helps with that process! I generally use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. They are both great types of therapy that focus on behavioral strategies for change after examination of your thinking.

Who's in charge anyway?? When events or other people or you seem to be out of synch, maybe bouncing it off someone who is not in the situation with you is a good idea. I am a great listener and a proactive counselor.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
