In my work with couples, I help partners enhance or mend a relationship by being attuned to one another and re-establishing an emotional connection.
A counselor's technical skills are only as important as his or her ability to connect with you, otherwise personal growth in therapy may be limited. Establishing a balanced, trusting, supportive, and safe relationship with you is a paramount aspiration within my counseling framework. It is my mission to provide you with empathic counseling support by not only using research-based and proven interventions, but also with my ability to foster a supportive and nurturing therapeutic alliance. I provide comprehensive therapy for couples, individuals, adolescents, and families utilizing a client centered, emotionally-focused approach.

I am determined to be authentic because I believe healing happens when safety is present, authenticity in the therapeutic relationship invites safety.
The women I work with want to find healing from emotional, physical, and spiritual trauma. Clients that come to me want relief from anxiety, fear, intrusive thoughts, intense anger, overwhelming sadness, and feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness. Many of my clients' struggle with interpersonal relationship dynamics, as well as having experienced abandonment, rejection, painful relationships, and various forms of abuse. The women I work with are determined to find adaptive solutions to the areas they feel most stuck.

It is my passion to assist you in identifying, navigating, and dealing with the factors in your life that may be causing anxiety, depression, emotional pain, and relationship issues.
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” - Georges Seurat Pointillism is the art of creating a picture out of hundreds, thousands, or even millions of small dots. We as humans are like a pointillism picture, but rather than paint or colored pencil, our dots are made up of family, friends, school, work, beliefs, cultures, personality, preferences, and so much more. Every dot that makes up your life is important for positive change and growth.

Dealing with trauma, anxiety, and depression damages our relationship with our own bodies and our communities.
None of us are able to escape transition. Our relationships change, our families change, our environments change, and our bodies change. Whether the change we experience is welcome, abrupt, devastating, or a mix of many feelings, we must leave the familiar when it comes. Growth happens when we walk forward and integrate our new awareness and adapt to the new era that we are entering. Sometimes this growth needs more support than we anticipate. Flourishing is possible, but we can feel stuck in our journey to get to it.

Life can hit us with challenges, whether they come in the form of unexpected change, unwelcome events, or damage to an important relationship … maybe even the relationship with yourself. During the most difficult days of my own life, key individuals offered me life-giving support, teaching me that I wasn’t the problem – it was the way I chose to cope with it that required the attention. That shift in my thinking opened a path to healing and greater wholeness. It is now my privilege and honor to provide a safe, respectful space where people are fully accepted as they are.

I'm experienced in men's issues, women's issues, trauma, suicidality/self-harm, anxiety, depression, and couples'/ relationship issues.
Life is both beautiful and difficult. With empathy, genuineness, and humor, I seek to understand why my clients feel the way they do. I call myself a seasoned optimist; while I've had my own share of life experiences, I remain hopeful about humanity. One thing I know for sure: things can - and do - get better.

I am a Kansas native and have been in the helping professions for over five years, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist (LCP). Starting therapy can be a somewhat intimidating first step in improving your mental health, which is why I strive to create a welcoming and open environment for my clients. I have been passionate about mental health and the study of psychology since early in my academic career, and I enjoy providing support and healing for people of all walks of life.
