From my previous career experience as a registered nurse in critical care/trauma hospital settings, I am passionate about providing a warm, direct, and nurturing presence for professionals working in healthcare and other high-intensity and helping professions.
Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you can be hard, especially when you may already be struggling with anxiety, depression, loneliness, or navigating a lifequake event. As human beings, we're wired for connection and deeply long to be included, seen, and welcomed into relationships as the truest version of ourselves. In my practice, I actively acknowledge the power dynamics involved in the role of the therapist and remain curious and humble around those dynamics in order to build a trust-filled and secure relationship with each of my clients. You can count on me to be a welcoming and affirming presence for you.

I'm passionate about working with those who are looking to build brighter futures in their relationships and careers.
Many people struggle with feeling like they need to push through and avoid the hurt and stress they’ve been carrying to be strong. My passion is in helping you lift the burden you’ve been carrying and truly see and hear your story. You don't need a reason to start therapy, sometimes you just need someone to talk with and process life and all of its twists and turns. As an attachment therapist, we’ll look at how your symptoms are not a reflection of some personal flaw, but rather as a symptom of a larger relational problem. My goal is to become a safe and consistent attachment figure for you.

Sometimes we don't feel connected to ourselves. Our excitement and motivation in life is just gone. Depression, anxiety, and all the "what ifs" set in which become overwhelming. How do I get out of this rut? What can I do to feel better with myself and move forward in life? Why can't I be like others around me? These are hard questions and can feel intense. It can feel overwhelming to do this alone, so I want to explore this with you. Let’s connect with your body and see where you are feeling lost or out of control. Let’s talk about being comfortable with yourself again.

I see each person as a lotus, unfolding gracefully despite life's challenges—much like how it grows beautifully in the mud. We all deal with stress, fears, worries, and tough times that can make life overwhelming or lonely. My goal is to create a safe space where you can learn to navigate these ups and downs and realize that you're not alone on this journey. Growing up in a Vietnamese household in an American society has given me unique insights, inspiring me to become a mental health counselor. I understand the struggle of finding someone relatable to talk to, so I'll focus on creating a trusting and warm relationship between us.

Life can often feel overwhelming. At times that feeling seems to be more than we can handle on our own. These times can be really difficult to navigate alone. When relationships that we count on fall apart, emotions get out of control, and our strategies for just feeling okay seem to do us more harm than good, reaching out to someone for help can be a powerful first step in getting things back in balance.

In a world full of judgment, we need someone we can be vulnerable with. We need someone we can talk to about the uncomfortable thoughts and emotions associated with fears and insecurities. We need someone we can bounce ideas off of to find perspective. In a world full of judgment, we need a nonjudgmental someone who can be kind, empathetic, and psychological educated to help us grow in self and life contentment. My 32 years of cosmetology and services industry work, along with my achievement of honors in both my BA and MA, has allowed me to build acceptance, wisdom, perspective, and awareness in my therapeutic approach.

Struggling isn't meant to be a lifelong sentence. Whether it's within a relationship or with oneself, I believe that with honest communication and genuine effort, people can grow into their favorite version of themselves. One of my favorite quotes is from Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. She said, "Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn't people feel as free to delight in whatever sunlight remains to them." As a storm passes, we have two options- drown or take shelter. Even after it's gone, we may still have to clean up debris. Once that debris is out of our life, that sunlight feels pretty damn good.

Career Counseling Therapists
How do I know if I need career counseling?
Determining whether a career counselor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counseling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counselor.
Who can benefit from career counseling?
Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counseling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counseling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counselor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counseling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.
How long does career counseling typically last?
The length of career counseling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking. Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counseling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counselor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.
How to prepare for career counseling?
Clients can prepare for career counseling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counselor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counselor, particularly if the career counselor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counseling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
