I work with individuals feeling stuck in old patterns or stress; who are ready to create change. Change can feel vulnerable, but it is very brave and often where healing starts. You are the expert in your healing journey, and I am honored to be a supportive witness. I incorporate mindfulness techniques, “being with things the way they are”. I also use somatic experiencing training to help individuals feel safer in their bodies. Selectively, I will use EMDR with clients who express readiness for reprocessing difficult memories or experiences. It is a privilege to support others' journey back to themselves.

I work with adults who experience a variety of general mental health issues including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD, relationship issues, emotional dysregulation, and more. The individuals I work with are interested in learning and strengthening coping skills for their current symptoms, but also processing the root of the problem, in order to better their quality of life, relationships with others, build their self-esteem, and strengthen their own identity.

Couples tend to be the relationship dynamic most likely to seek out therapy, but all relationships are important. Relationships I work with include, but are not limited to: marital, intimate partner, co-parent, sibling, friend, and workplace relationships. We tend to find ourselves repeating old patterns of attachment and communication created during formative years. This can lead to feeling stuck, frustrated, and disconnected. While two people are required to create a pattern in a relationship, one person can often effectively change the dynamic through learning new skills, setting healthy boundaries, and improving communication.

I enjoy working with a variety of different folks from varied background, and with a wide range of concerns. This might mean that you are ready to look at something that has been around for a while or it might be a new difficulty in your life. Clients should be ready to work and to lean into what can be a challenging process. Change is hard and it often takes more than the 1 hour a week we meet to see the changes you want in your life. Therapy does not offer a quick fix, but together we can often make big changes in relatively short amount of time. Additionally, I enjoy incorporating assessment and trauma sensitive yoga in my work.

My focus is to help people move through and overcome whatever obstacles are keeping them from experiencing a quality, fulfilling life. I work with a range of individuals and issues with either one person individually, or with a couple or family relationship. I have specialized training and education in treating ADHD in children and adults, in prenatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and trauma. I utilize a type of therapy called Somatic Experiencing to heal trauma which aims to restore the individual's nervous system to a less reactive state.

I have experience with counseling those who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues with communication, anger management, and addiction related issues. I know how scary it can be to reach out for help and I try my best to help my clients feel comfortable. Feeling understood and heard is essential to a good therapeutic relationship. I use approaches that address how our thoughts impact our emotions and physical sensations. I also believe in the ability to discuss past issues like grief and loss that are often overlooked or undervalued in their impact on mental health.

Passion...not everyone has it or even knows where to begin to find it. So much gets in the way of it, such as life, work, raising a family, running a business, being a single parent, saving a marriage, surviving grief...or just surviving. I want to help you reconnect with those parts of yourself that have been put aside, help to restore meaningful relationships, self-worth, self-respect, and to assist in finding passion in living, while overcoming obstacles of grief, addiction, trauma, guilt, or fear. Let's get started! I work from an Attachment framework, NARM, CBT, EFT and other modalities including Faith (when requested).
