I completed my master’s in social work (2018) at the University of Kansas. While completing my graduate program, I worked with elementary school students in an after school program and teens in an acute care setting at Research Psychiatric Center’s adolescent inpatient unit. Before coming to FPS, I worked as a Children and Family Services Clinician in a local community mental health center. During my years in practice, I have worked with a diverse range of clients from children to adults with depression, anxiety, self-harm behaviors, ADHD, and adjustment disorders, as well as those experiencing concerns around gender identity.

I love working with pre-teens, adolescents, college students, and emerging adults (a period that ranges from age 20-29). My goal with all of my clients is to provide a safe and supportive environment in which we work together to create lasting change. Anna M. Lara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kansas who has been practicing since 2004. She has a BS and MSW from Washburn University. Anna is supportive, accepting, patient, listens to clients and meets them where they are. She worked in a school system for more than 30 years and is familiar with the special education process. Anna is an advocate for children and family and offers support to young adults who are starting life on their own. Outside of work, Anna enjoys time with her four children and family, her dog Ohana, being outdoors, gardening, long walks, lively conversations, and crocheting.
