Are you tired of feeling stressed and anxious, saying “yes” when you mean “no,” snapping at those you love most, overwhelmed by caregiving and professional roles? Therapy can offer a new perspective to manage these challenges. In our modern lives full of competing demands, imagine being able to hit the pause button and find calm. With skills of mindfulness, you can focus and take action in ways that reflect what you value most. Anxiety and perfectionism are not the boss of you. You are capable of finding deeper connection, greater purpose, and inner peace.

Difficulties and stressful situations are a part of life. Sometimes you need someone to help you to walk through these difficulties and bounce back. My goal is to help individuals and families strengthen their ability to recover from life stressors and events in order to become more resilient to future challenges. Life is messy, unpredictable, and challenging. At times, the struggles of today are complicated by the worries of the future or hardships of the past. Other times, we feel like our own inner-critic prevents growth and progress. I can help you break down barriers that are holding you back from enjoying the beauty in your life and finding inner peace. I truly believe we all have the capacity to change, heal, and grow. I feel passionately about helping individuals become the best and most authentic versions of themselves. Change is hard and it's also possible!

I focus on trauma initially because what I have found in over 6 years of work as a trauma therapist, is that so much of our present concerns and limitations is rooted in trauma exposure and history. This lends itself to unhealthy patterns of avoidance, hypervigilance/hyperarousal, disturbance in mood and cognitions. and being inundated with intrusions and flashbacks. Many patients that have struggled with years with anxiety and or depressive episodes really have suffered from trauma that has not yet been dealt with. T Fields Trauma Therapy is for you if this describes you! Please also ask about a new service: Medication Management!

I offer a safe space for you to express your authentic self and be heard. From an early age I knew I wanted to work with people and, as I went through school, I found my passion for psychology. I enjoy sitting with people one-on-one or in small groups as a way to learn about them and their personal story. I use this connection to foster a therapeutic alliance with my clients, ensuring that they feel understood and supported. Together we will find your strengths and self-compassion so you can be present in your life.

In a culture that hyper sexualizes everything but rarely talks about sex, it is hard to have a healthy relationship with sex, sensuality and pleasure. Somatic based sex therapy is a profoundly healing approach to self-discovery. By recognizing the inherent wisdom and resilience of the body, somatic sex therapy encourages individuals to discuss their sexuality in a safe and non-judgmental space. Through the therapeutic process, clients are guided to reconnect with their bodies, reclaim agency over desires, and navigate past traumas or societal conditioning that may inhibit their sexual expression

During the journey of life, we will experience many “hills and valleys,” joys and sorrows, hurts and healings. At times, it can be emotionally difficult to navigate through some of life's most challenging journeys. During these moments, you can be left feeling alone, hopeless, anxious and wondering "what do I do next, how do I overcome this, does anyone care?” When experiencing these types of thoughts and emotions, it can be beneficial to find a comforting and competent therapist to help you acquire and develop the cognitive and behavioral coping skills that promote hope, healing and positivity that allow for a harmonious life.

I believe that we all reach places in our lives where we are learning, unlearning and possibly relearning the existential areas of: who am I, what do I want, and what are my barriers & blind spots? Some may need support identifying or answering these questions cause they can be overwhelming. We often develop limitations in efforts to cope with grief, stress, control, hurt & relationships. So do you wonder,"What might be getting in my way or holding me back?", or "What I am avoiding?" or "Do I want to be more effective in my relationship?" Therapy can support you when you are answering these incredibly rich questions for yourself.

Do you have recent trauma or loss? As a certified Brainspotting therapist, we can focus on releasing the painful emotions and reactions to recent trauma or loss that you no longer need dominating your life, if you're ready. These include grief (profound sadness, anger, shame, guilt, numbness and despair) anxiety, flashbacks, nightmares, and depression. The further back the trauma the more challenging it can be, however I try hard to be supportive and help achieve the change you want. I have worked with all kinds of trauma with compassion. I seek to help you achieve vitality, peace, confidence and wholeness in your body.

How can I find a therapist in Brown County?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
