It might mean learning to set boundaries, working through a loss, or life transition or changing a pattern of behavior that is keeping you stuck.
Do you struggle with anxiety or depression that affects your day-to-day life, relationships, or ability to function? Do you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, lost, by what it means to live up to someone else’s standards, just getting through the day, answering emails, texts or calls, the thought that there’s no light at the end of the tunnel?Do you hope that things could be better? Now more than ever, people are feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about anxiety, stress, and depression that seem to never end.

Having been married for 12 years and a parent for 10. I have done the very things I will ask you to do. Let me show you how to have the most amazing connection. I have grown to know intimacy without shame or fear. Sometimes, I help people divorce. If you are struggling with this decision, let me help you understand what is happening and give direction. Perhaps you and your partner want to work out your separation in my office. You don't have to be enemies and you don't have to be alone in this journey. There are times when ending a relationship is the best thing two people can do.

Hello there! Life has felt overwhelming for many of us these past few years, and I'm so happy you are here looking for some extra support. Therapy can provide a nonjudgmental and objective space to help process the stressors of life. You may be here because you are dealing with things like emotional detachment, insomnia, nightmares, avoidance, irritability, depression, and intrusive thoughts (which can all be reactions to painful life events). Our brains can and do heal just like other parts of our bodies, and that healing can have big impacts on not only ourselves but those we love.

You may need support with overcoming a challenge, healing from loss, or strengthening your relationships.
At all stages of life, a little work on the heart can become necessary. I see children in the context of play where they are free to express themselves most fully. They work out their problems by gaining independence and strengthening their self-esteem in a play room setting. I provide tools for teens to strengthen their identity and foster healthy relationships. I offer understanding and hope to women who have been betrayed by a spouse and/or have suffered from the painful effects of pornography and sexual addiction. The addiction/co-addition cycle can be broken.

I am an older Christian adult with personal experiences in divorce, raising children, being a grandparent, a 2nd long-term marriage, death of a spouse, caregiver for my elderly parents, depression, familial abuse, anxiety, grief and disappointments.
I love working with couples, families, individuals, adolescents, and parents about their personal issues and emotional needs. I am a family therapist who believe most people can manage their own lives, except for those few times when life throws a curve ball, then we may have difficulty figuring how to handle that ball. We often find ourselves going in circles using old techniques and patterns that don't work . Let me help you step out of the repetitive loop by helping you identify the patterns and discover new ways to mange this particular ball.

Life can be challenging. Being able to process the challenges we face can be difficult to manage alone. I know, as I have not been immune to life's experiences. We are all relational, and this can be both a strength and a struggle. Families, friends, coworkers, classmates, and others can stir up challenges that might not make sense. Let's Process Your Life together and see where healing and change can take you and those you care most about. You are worth it!

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a different and fun way to reach children, adolescents, and young adults without the stigma of talk therapy. EAP is an alternative therapeutic approach that addresses mental health concerns and everyday life challenges by teaming up with caring therapists and horses. This type of therapy often reflects clients' verbal and nonverbal strengths and incongruencies while enhancing personal growth and development. This experiential, holistic approach works well with solution-focused therapy (SFT) and other evidence-based treatment modalities, e.g., ACT, CBT, DBT, and EMDR.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
