My philosophy is that each person has hope and acceptance with in them to utilize their strength, reach their goals and use their voice. My job as a therapist is to walk with each client through the journey of discovering who they are and how to live their live worth living. I offer a safe, non-judgmental environment to be able to process trauma that may be interfering with day to day life, learn and practice tools to ground and cope when triggers arise and to be able to problem solve in an unbiased place.
I believe that there isn’t just one theory that works but there is a theory that works for each client. The main evidence-based theories that I utilize are CBT, DBT CPS, CAMs. I feel that counseling is a collaborative processive. This means that there needs to be a willingness to try new things.
The primary focus of our relationship is a therapeutic one. This means that to protect your rights as a client and mine as a therapist there will need to be clear boundaries that we will work to create as we move forward in treatment.
